Fedics, part of Tsebo Solutions Group, is seeking an Assistant Catering Manager to join their Healthcare division. In this role, you will be assisting the Catering Manager with the day-to-day tasks involved in providing catering services to meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Production: Assist in preparing meals, snacks, and catering for functions, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.

Service Assistance: Support with lunch service operations, ensuring smooth delivery of services.

Menu Planning & Costing: Help plan and cost menus according to client needs and budget.

Supplier Ordering: Place orders with suppliers and track the quality, quantity, and price of goods. Ensure stock is stored and rotated properly.

Hygiene Compliance: Make regular inspections to ensure hygiene standards meet company and statutory regulations.

Training & Staff Development: Provide on-the-job training for staff, identifying those with potential for growth and promotion.

HACCP & NOSA Compliance: Be familiar with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and NOSA (National Occupational Safety Association) standards and report any defects.

Stock Management: Assist with regular stocktaking and ensure proper storage practices.

Supervision: Take charge of the restaurant and cater to the operational needs in the absence of the Catering Manager.

Security & Safety: Ensure secure management of storerooms, safes, and other locked areas.

Client Interaction & Meetings: Attend meetings, engage in catering exhibitions, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the catering and healthcare industry.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory catering or restaurant management role.

Matric (Grade 12) qualification is required.

Experience in a healthcare environment is highly advantageous.

Knowledge of HACCP and NOSA is a plus.
