🎯 Purpose of the Job

Develop your retail management skills through hands-on training in the Checkers way. Support the store Management Team while learning operational and leadership responsibilities to prepare for a future managerial role.


⚙️ Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in structured training to learn store operations, team management, and customer engagement

  • Support daily store functions including opening/closing, cash handling, and stock management

  • Assist with recruitment, training, and development of team members

  • Participate in inventory management and merchandising strategies

  • Address customer inquiries and complaints to ensure satisfaction

  • Analyse sales reports to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Support visual merchandising and maintain appealing product displays

  • Adhere to health, safety, and regulatory compliance


🧠 Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Grade 12/Matric

  • Advantageous: Diploma/Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or related field

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred

  • Demonstrated interest in a retail management career

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong leadership potential to motivate and support teams

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
