About the Bursary Programme:

The Breede Valley Municipality Mayoral Bursary Programme 2026 offers support to deserving students from the areas of Rawsonville, Worcester, De Doorns, and Touwsrivier, who demonstrate academic potential and financial need. The bursary provides partial coverage for registration fees only, which will be paid directly into the educational institution’s account.

Applicants must show a commitment to community development and ethical leadership, aligning with the Municipality’s vision of creating a unique and caring valley with excellent service delivery, opportunities, and growth.


Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for the Breede Valley Municipality Mayoral Bursary Programme, applicants must:

  • Reside within the Breede Valley Municipality (Rawsonville, Worcester, De Doorns, or Touwsrivier).

  • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.

  • Have achieved a minimum overall average of 50% in Matric.

  • Be studying or intending to study in a field preferably related to local government (other fields may also be considered).

  • Be studying or intending to study at a recognized South African tertiary institution.

  • Not be receiving NSFAS or any other bursary funding.

  • Demonstrate commitment to community development and ethical leadership.

Applicants must submit certified copies of the following documents:

  1. Completed Breede Valley Municipality Bursary Application Form 2026

  2. ID document (certified copy)

  3. Matric results or certificate (certified copy)

  4. Full tertiary academic record, if currently studying

  5. Proof of tertiary registration (on official letterhead)

  6. Breakdown of study and book fees (on official letterhead)

  7. Parents’ or guardians’ proof of income:

    • Latest payslips (if employed)

    • Affidavit (if unemployed)

    • Bank statements (if self-employed)

    • Proof of grant or pension (if applicable)

    • Death certificate (if applicable)

  8. Proof of residence (municipal account)
