The Business Development team drives AVI’s strategic growth by evaluating mergers, acquisitions, investments, and commercial opportunities while providing critical insights to senior leadership.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Analyst, you will:

Analyse and evaluate major capital projects

Assess mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic opportunities

Conduct detailed valuations, including share and phantom options
-
Review business unit performance to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
-
Design and evaluate employee remuneration and incentive schemes
-
Produce high-quality financial models and Board/Committee reports
-
Support Group-wide strategic projects with commercial and analytical insights
Reports to: Business Development Manager
Requirements
Experience:
-
2 years post-articles experience in consulting, corporate finance, private equity, structured finance, or business development
OR -
5 years relevant experience in the same fields
Qualifications & Certifications:

Postgraduate qualification in finance, CFA, CA(SA), or MBA preferred
Skills & Competencies:

Strong financial modelling in Excel

Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills

Analytical mindset and ability to simplify complex problems
