About the Role:

Curro Holdings is seeking a dedicated Business Studies Teacher for the FET phase at Curro Northriding College in Johannesburg North. The position is full-time and will start in January 2026. As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in Business Studies, using modern teaching methods and approaches. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic and personal development of learners in this critical phase of their schooling.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons, incorporating modern teaching tools and techniques.
Assessment & Reporting: Develop assessments (formal and continuous), track student progress, and provide feedback to ensure academic improvement.
Classroom Management: Design and manage an effective classroom environment, setting up optimal seating arrangements, establishing classroom rules, and fostering positive communication with learners and parents.
Term Planning: Implement, monitor, and adjust the term plan, considering school activities, exams, assessments, and differentiated learning materials.
Extracurricular Activities: Organize and participate in extracurricular activities and outings to further support learners’ development.
Individual Support: Offer one-on-one tutoring and additional lessons for learners in need of extra assistance.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualification: BEd, BA degree, and/or PGCE in FET phase education (with an honours degree in Business Studies advantageous).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as an FET phase teacher.
Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the IEB curriculum.
Skills:
- Proven facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.
SACE Registration: Must be SACE-registered.
Clear Criminal Record: A clean criminal record is required.
