Purpose of the Role
To support customer service at the point of sale and ensure a world-class shopping experience. Record customer transactions accurately, follow standard operating procedures, and help eliminate fraud risks.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric
-
Minimum of 6 months’ cashier or till operations experience
-
Computer literacy (MS Office)
-
Solid numerical and communication skills
-
Fluent in English (written & verbal)

Basic customer service skills
-
Willingness to work retail hours
Key Responsibilities
-
Deliver excellent customer service at the till point
-
Accurately record transactions and handle payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons)

Process returns and merchandise exchanges (when authorised)

Handle daily takings confidentially and ensure cash security

Maintain professional relationships with customers

Report compliments or complaints to the supervisor or store manager

Monitor and follow current sales and promotions

Ensure all items and scripts are scanned and paid for

Maintain personal till code security

Follow Dis-Chem’s communication, safety, and security policies
