Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Merchandiser to join their team at the Kathu Village Mall in Northern Cape. The role focuses on ensuring that Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards are maintained and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Restock merchandise to ensure maximum sales and store organization

Ensure stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) and monitor sell-by dates
-
Report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management
-
Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking
-
Adhere to Dis-Chem’s operating standards, store layout, and planograms
-
Maintain clean and well-presented store shelves with correct labels and pricing
-
Assist with loading and off-loading stock
-
Ensure all customer queries regarding stock are addressed and resolved
-
Ensure stock is neatly arranged on shelves, and all displays are properly maintained
-
Follow health and safety rules and regulations at all times
Minimum Requirements:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Up to 6 months of retail experience

Computer literate (MS Office)
-
Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:

At least 1 year of retail experience

Strong command of the English language

Presentable and professional

Effective engagement with customers, management, and staff

Bilingual

Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry

Product and category knowledge

Ability to analyze ZMORE reports for stock orders and stocktaking

Ability to report suspicious behavior from customers or staff

Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes and adhere to health and safety standards

Reliable transport or reside close to the store

South African citizen or valid work permit

Clear credit and criminal records
