Job Description

RCL FOODS is looking for a talented and organized Channel Representative for its Benoni Bakery. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Sales Manager and be responsible for addressing operational needs of customers, driving sales performance, and managing delivery teams.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12

• Diploma/Degree in Sales or Marketing

• Valid Driver’s License (Code 10) with PDP

• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience

• Knowledge of sales planning, organisational processes, compliance, and sector offerings

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; analytical and decision-making abilities

• Computer literacy

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Efficient Product Distribution

   • Ensure drivers follow mapped and optimised routes

   • Monitor invoices, orders, and deliveries

   • Improve truck utilisation and route efficiency

2. Orders & Returns Management

   • Track and balance orders daily

   • Monitor returns and implement improvement plans

3. Sales & Reporting

   • Ensure drivers meet sales targets

   • Source and distribute key trade intelligence

   • Provide actionable improvement plans

4. Customer Management

   • Maintain accurate customer records

   • Build long-term relationships and address queries

   • Support merchandising and route optimisation

5. Driver Competency & Training

   • Lead, train, and evaluate delivery teams

   • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries

6. Trade Pricing & Strategy

   • Conduct weekly price surveys

   • Execute pricing policies and strategies

   • Develop strategies to grow market share
