Job Description:
iMasFinance is looking for a Collections Manager: Legal reporting to the Head: Business Support and Collections. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring debt review, regional, and legal collections strategies, minimizing write-offs, maximizing profitability, and managing a network of outsourced legal service providers. Preference is given to candidates from designated groups.
Key Responsibilities:

Translate corporate strategy into tactical strategies within Collections

Develop and manage legal collections strategy and divisional policies
-
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, emphasizing employer relationships
-
Appoint and manage panel of attorneys for court orders and judgments
-
Update member credit profiles and maintain regulatory compliance
-
Review collection trends, analyze data, and devise strategies
-
Manage specialized collections (debt review, CLI claims, sequestrations, administration orders)
-
Journalize and capture payments from PDA (Payment Distribution Agent)
-
Review commercial contracts and support new deals
-
Perform financial management, budgeting, and reporting
-
Establish and manage risk and ensure compliance with policies
-
Implement equitable HR practices, supervise team activities, and manage performance
-
Provide visionary leadership and ensure team training and development
-
Stay updated with industry trends and developments
Qualifications:
-
Matric with Mathematics and Accounting
-
Diploma in Credit Management
-
LLB or BCom Law degree (essential)

Admitted advocate/attorney
-
Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
Experience:
-
6-8 years operational experience in credit procedures and policies
-
5 years managerial experience in debt collection
-
6-8 years operational experience in debt collection and legal administration
Knowledge and Skills:

Computer literacy and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory bodies

Debt collection processes and strategy formulation

Interpersonal, influencing, planning, organizing, and analytical skills

Leadership, judgment, conflict handling, time management, and communication skills
