Curro Holdings seeks to appoint a Consumer Studies teacher for the high school FET phase at Curro Bloemfontein, starting in January 2026. The role involves teaching and coordinating subjects according to the Curro curriculum for the FET phase. The teacher will focus on active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development, and fostering positive attitudes among learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver lessons using modern tools, set up workbooks, and monitor academic progress.

Implement, adjust, and monitor term plans, incorporating assessments, exams, school activities, and differentiated learning materials to accommodate learners’ needs.

Develop baseline assessments to evaluate knowledge levels, and make recommendations for subject choices, teaching methods, and remedial programs.

Manage the classroom, including setup, assessment roster, discipline, and communication with learners and parents.

Organize and oversee assessments (formal and continuous), homework, and revision.

Plan and manage extracurricular activities and outings.

Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons.
Qualifications & Requirements:

BEd, BA, and/or PGCE in FET Phase Education (honours degree in relevant subjects advantageous).

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.

Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.

Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
-
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
-
SACE registered.
-
Clear criminal record.
