Job Summary:
The Yard Controller represents the decoupling point between primary transport and the warehouse. This role ensures smooth yard processes, effective flow of products to/from the warehouse, coordination with gate, truck, and warehouse stakeholders, and exception management in collaboration with the primary control tower.
Key Responsibilities:
Device Management:

Ensure safety, charging, and maintenance of yard devices.

Manage devices through a register.
Scanning Team Management:
-
Support staff in following device procedures and applicable SOPs.
Yard Link Application Management:
-
Ensure users follow SOPs and that the application functions correctly at the start of the day.

Create users for all scanning staff.
-
Drive compliance with the application.
Web Application Management:
-
Operational use of the application for effective yard management.
Site & Dashboard Management:
-
Use dashboards to manage site activities.
-
Report concerns regarding loading, TAT, and other yard metrics to managers and control tower.

Handle exception management in the yard.
Yard Management:
-
Ensure proper yard flow and eliminate unnecessary queues.

Inform truck drivers where to load, offload, or queue.
-
Optimize site TAT using flight board and dashboard data.

Manage irregularities involving drivers or staff and escalate to responsible managers.
Requirements:

National Diploma.

Relevant experience applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes.

Advanced computer literacy.

Fluent in Business English.

Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
