🔍 About the Role:

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. This includes everything from cooking main dishes to assisting with planning menus and stock control.


🍽️ Key Duties:

  • Prepare and cook meals (meat, fish, veggies, soups, desserts, etc.)

  • Follow recipes, including those for special diets

  • Assist with training and directing kitchen staff

  • Maintain food production records and report supply needs

  • Clean kitchen, utensils, and equipment

  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

  • Serve food and assist during meal times

  • Use standardized recipes – no improvising

  • Assist with menu planning, portion control, and stock management

  • Stay up to date with food trends and best practices

  • Be flexible to work overtime when needed

📚 Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12) (essential)

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar cooking role

  • Proven track record in professional kitchens
