St Andrew’s College invites applications for the position of Design & Technology Teacher. This opportunity is open to both experienced and junior teachers who are passionate about inspiring young people and nurturing creativity.
The successful candidate will teach Design to Grades 9–12 and Design & Technology to Grades 4–8. The role requires an energetic, innovative, and hard-working individual with a strong understanding of current design education trends. The ability to coach a sport and contribute to the school’s extramural programme is an advantage.
Key Requirements:

Relevant qualification (Degree in a design-related field; PGCE/B.Ed preferred).

Approximately 5 years’ subject-specific teaching experience (junior teachers will also be considered).

Specialist skills in one or more of the following: Jewellery and Fashion Design & Manufacture, Visual Communication Design, Architecture & Product Design, Woodwork, Technical Drawing (elevations, perspective, orthographic, isometric, and working drawings).

Strong digital design knowledge, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D design software (e.g., Google SketchUp).

Coding and robotics knowledge, or interest in A Level Art & Design teaching, advantageous.

Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

Strong communication, presentation, and organisational skills.

Initiative, creativity, and ability to design engaging schemes of work, exhibitions, and project briefs.

Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Willingness to contribute to the school’s Anglican ethos, transformation journey, and wider community.

SACE registration.

Clearance in terms of the Sexual Offences Act and Child Protection Register.
