About the Role
Unitrans RCL Malalane Workshop is looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to repair and maintain trucks, trailers, machinery, motor vehicles, pumps, and generators. The role includes conducting safety checks and ensuring vehicles and equipment meet OEM and legal standards.
Minimum Requirements

Qualified Artisan or 5-year recognized Apprentice

At least 5 years’ experience in diesel mechanics

Valid driver’s license (preferably EC)
Duties & Responsibilities
-
Service and repair company vehicles to OEM standards and specifications
-
Attend breakdowns and perform necessary repairs on trucks, trailers, and cane loading equipment

Ensure vehicles are legally compliant and roadworthy

Report breakdowns, services, and parts usage to first-line management
-
Diagnose, identify, and rectify mechanical problems on vehicles and equipment
-
Apply Health & Safety rules and maintain a safe, clean workplace

Perform ancillary duties as required by management

Ensure tools and equipment comply with safety policies

Complete job cards accurately according to company procedures
