Requirements
Educational Qualification:

Appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician
Professional Registration:

Registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician
Experience:

Grade 1:
-
RSA-qualified: None after HPCSA registration
-
Foreign-qualified: 1 year relevant experience (Community Service not required)

RSA-qualified: Minimum 10 years relevant experience

Foreign-qualified: Minimum 11 years relevant experience (Community Service not required)

Grade 3:

RSA-qualified: Minimum 20 years relevant experience

Inherent Requirements:

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points to maintain HPCSA registration

Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team at a transitional care facility

Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB)

Competencies (Knowledge / Skills):

Thorough knowledge and experience in all aspects of Dietetics

Clinical experience in acute hospital or rehabilitative settings

Problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Duties
-
Deliver comprehensive Dietetic services to patients, ensuring optimal nutritional care
-
Assess and treat patients referred to Metro TB Hospital Complex / transitional care facility
-
Administer patient care and departmental administration
-
Manage financial resources and assets in allocated work area
-
Support multidisciplinary teams and management
-
Assist Food Service Manager/Supervisor with specialized nutrition and resource management
-
Provide in-service training and mentorship on nutrition-related topics
