Role Overview

The Director of Pupil Affairs and Senior Prep Teacher is a dual role combining academic teaching with leadership in pupil affairs. The position contributes to both the academic and pastoral life of the school, shaping students’ mental, physical, and social well-being.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Duties:

  • Teach academic subjects in the Senior Prep phase.

  • Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.

  • Fulfil the role of a Register Class Teacher.

Leadership & Pupil Affairs:

  • Serve on the Senior Management Team in a leadership capacity.

  • Oversee the Pupil Support team, including the school counsellor.

  • Ensure effective pastoral care and mentorship for all pupils.

  • Foster personal excellence, wellbeing, and holistic development.

  • Support academic, sport, cultural, and extra-mural programmes.

Administrative & Interpersonal Duties:

  • Strong report-writing, administrative, organisational, and time-management skills.

  • Empathetic, innovative, and dynamic approach to student and staff interactions.

  • Uphold Duty of Care and safeguarding policies.


Advantageous Skills & Experience

  • Coaching experience in a boys’ school environment.

  • Experience leading wellness initiatives, workshops, or parent/staff engagement programmes.

  • Experience developing diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks.

  • Willingness to perform boarding duties.


Requirements

  • Relevant teaching qualifications with SACE registration.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching preparatory school children.

  • Leadership/managerial experience within an educational setting.

  • Excellent command of English.
