Dis-Chem Pharmacies invites young, enthusiastic South Africans to apply for the 2025 / 2026 Dispensary Support Learnership. This structured programme provides hands-on experience in retail pharmacy, while preparing you to qualify as a Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
Successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract and trained under the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
🏥 Key Responsibilities During the Learnership
Learners will work under supervision and gain practical experience in:

Selling Schedule 1 and 2 medicines
-
Compounding and preparing non-sterile medications
-
Unpacking, merchandising, and stock control in the dispensary

Labelling, packing, and checking prescriptions
-
Managing patient follow-ups and chronic medication reminders
-
Supporting medical scheme authorizations (HIV, oncology, chronic)

Providing basic health advice and service
✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following:

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with:

Pure Mathematics
-
Physical Science or Life Sciences

Minimum 50% aggregate

South African citizen
-
Proficient in English and one other official language

Numerically skilled and detail-oriented

Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills

Computer literate (MS Office)

Willingness to learn and adapt in a healthcare retail environment
