Description:
The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture invites students to apply for the 2026 Bursary Programme. This initiative supports deserving students pursuing careers in the agricultural sector, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Resource Engineering (BSc)

Veterinary Technology (BHSc)
What the Bursary Covers:

Registration and tuition fees
-
Accommodation and meals
-
Prescribed textbooks
(Note: Does not cover historical debt or outstanding fees)
Service Contract:
Successful applicants must serve the Department for the same number of years as the bursary duration.
Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a South African citizen

Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric / NCV

Relevant subjects required per field (e.g., Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Sciences)

Must be studying or intend to study at a registered Higher Education Institution in South Africa

Must be unemployed and financially needy (household income ≤ R350,000 per annum, or ≤ R600,000 for applicants with disabilities)

Preference given to Eastern Cape residents from historically disadvantaged backgrounds
