Role Summary:

The Educational Psychologist promotes the well-being and academic progress of students through counselling, assessment, collaboration with teachers and parents, and specialist referrals. The role involves individual and group counselling, managing student accommodations with IEB, crisis intervention, and contributing to professional development within the school.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead individual and group counselling sessions.

  • Collaborate with student support and leadership teams to ensure a safe, supportive school environment.

  • Maintain professional records and reports of counselling sessions.

  • Manage student IEB accommodations and liaise with IEB.

  • Provide crisis intervention and specialist referrals.

  • Conduct screening and diagnostic assessments related to neurodevelopmental and learning needs.

  • Recommend strategies for overcoming learning barriers and socio-emotional challenges in collaboration with teachers and parents.

  • Contribute to teacher professional development regarding mental health and student support.

  • Support Life Orientation teaching and broader school community initiatives.

  • Maintain professional conduct, punctuality, and communication standards.
