Unicorn Preparatory School invites applications for the above-mentioned position, which will be available from 01 January 2026.
Local and national applications are welcomed for a Grade 4–7 Educational Support Teacher. The successful candidate must be passionate about working with children aged 9–14 who require educational support. This includes offering assistance for all recognised learning barriers and providing reading and scribing support during tests and exams for pupils who qualify.
Minimum Requirements:

A teaching qualification (B Ed or PGCE)

Relevant professional qualification such as:
-
B Ed (Hons) in Inclusive Education or Educational Psychology
-
Advanced Certificate in Remedial Education
-
-
Knowledge and experience working with children with remedial, special, or extra educational needs
-
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate learning difficulties
-
At least 2 years’ experience in educational support, remedial, or special needs education
-
Must be SACE registered
-
Excellent command of the English language
-
Computer literate
-
Strong classroom management skills and an understanding of child development
-
Passion for teaching and ongoing personal and professional development
-
Clear criminal record and willingness to obtain police clearance

Willingness to fully engage in the school’s programme, including after-hours and extra-curricular responsibilities (including extra lessons)

Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a professional team
-
Alignment with the school’s values, ethos, and all-round educational approach
