Purpose of the Role:
To diagnose and maintain machinery and equipment in line with technical specifications and best engineering practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
-
Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26(D) Certificate (Boilermaker)
-
Valid driver’s license (Code B, EB, or C1)
-
Own transport to attend to call-outs
Experience & Skills Required:
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Boilermaker in a DMS Plant environment
-
Proficient in CO₂ welding
-
Able to fabricate pipework of all sizes and do general fabrication
-
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
-
Familiar with risk assessment procedures
-
Operating experience in:
-
Huckbolting machine (advantageous)
-
Thread cutting machine (advantageous)
-

English proficiency and strong time management skills
Key Responsibilities:
-
Diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and repairs
-
Conduct daily equipment inspections in line with MHSA regulations
-
Construct, modify, and install trade-related equipment
-
Ensure all completed tasks result in safe and operational equipment
-
Monitor equipment failures and efficiency for improvements
-
Liaise with production teams regarding maintenance schedules
-
Contribute to equipment availability and production performance
-
Accurately record maintenance activities for asset management systems
