🏫 About the South African Jockey Academy
The South African Jockey Academy (SAJA) is South Africa’s only residential horse racing academy, dedicated to developing young elite sportsmen and women. We offer a unique educational environment that combines academic excellence with high-performance athletic training.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate English and/or Consumer Studies Teacher to join our team from January 2026. This is a part-time teaching position in the FET Phase (Grades 10–12).
✅ Minimum Requirements

A suitable academic and professional teaching qualification

Experience teaching English and/or Consumer Studies in the FET Phase (Grades 10–12)

Registered with SACE (South African Council for Educators)

Must have a Criminal Clearance Certificate
-
Must have a Sexual Offences Clearance Certificate
-
Computer literacy – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-
A valid driver’s licence and own transport (PDP advantageous)

A strong team player willing to collaborate with peers

Willingness to assist with extramural activities on occasion

Deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned English and/or Consumer Studies lessons

Maintain high academic standards in a unique sport-focused environment

Create an inclusive classroom that supports student-athlete development

Collaborate with fellow staff in fostering a balanced academic and sporting culture

Participate occasionally in school activities beyond the classroom

A market-related package will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
