1. Key Purpose Statement
To plan, implement and assess instructional programs in a high school setting, guiding students to achieve their academic potential and develop holistically. The role includes building meaningful relationships, creating a future-focused learning environment, encouraging student agency, and continuously developing teaching practices to align with global education trends.
Principal Accountabilities
Academic Delivery (40%)

Incorporate future-focused education aligned with Crawford Pillars.

Prepare and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons.

Use technology and modern teaching tools effectively.

Support students through individual or group assistance.

Collaborate with teaching staff and stay updated with best practices.
Academic Assessment and Reporting (20%)

Continuously assess and record student progress.

Use data to inform teaching strategies and student support.
-
Participate in moderation, team marking, and IEB processes.

Provide timely and detailed feedback and reports.
Student Behaviour Management (15%)

Establish classroom norms and uphold Crawfordology values.

Support students’ personal and emotional well-being.

Guide students and parents with appropriate interventions.
School Brand Ambassadorship (15%)

Promote Crawford International values and branding.

Participate in school events, marketing efforts, and extracurriculars.

Mentor interns and contribute to the school’s public image.
Administration (10%)

Assist with excursion planning, inventory, and classroom setup.

Follow school policies and term planning.

Support in day-to-day operational tasks and substitutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) and PGCE/HDE or B.Ed (FET/GET) in relevant subject(s)

Valid SACE registration

Police clearance
Experience
Minimum:

3–5 years teaching experience

Subject specialization in English HL
Preferred:
-
Familiarity with IB curriculum
-
IEB teaching and matric marking experience

First Aid certification
