About the Department

Discovery Central Services (DCS) is Discovery’s Shared Services company – a financial command centre managing R5 billion in central assets and supporting Group subsidiaries with centralized functions such as HR, IT, Payroll, Legal, Tax, and Compliance. Managers within DCS work at the forefront of planning, reporting, and compliance – translating complex financial ecosystems into scalable solutions.


About the Role

This role supports financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and management within the Group’s shared services company, delivering insights to drive business objectives and long-term growth. Due to exposure to sensitive information, a high degree of confidentiality and trust is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial statements (IFRS), and group reporting submissions.

  • Analyze complex financial data to provide actionable insights.

  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related records.

  • Engage with internal and external auditors during audits.

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial records.

  • Drive process improvements, reporting frameworks, and technology adoption.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial queries.

  • Manage cash flow reporting, foreign exchange transaction analysis, and lease accounting (IFRS 16).


Role Requirements

  • CA (SA) qualification.

  • 5–7 years’ experience in financial management within a large corporate environment.

  • Experience engaging with multiple finance and business teams.
