Job Description
Nova Pioneer is looking for superstar Apprentice Teachers to teach Junior Primary grades at Paulshof Primary School! This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring teacher who is currently in or entering their 3rd or 4th year of a BEd qualification or completing their PGCE in 2025, to join a team deeply committed to the development of both our people and our children.
You will partner with your Resident Teacher to empower students using an enquiry-based learning approach and be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.

About the Role – Apprentice Teachers
Apprentice Teachers play a crucial support role in instruction and classroom management. You will help create a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment, aligned with the Nova Pioneer way. You will be mentored by a Resident Teacher, who will guide your professional growth through coaching and feedback.
Key Responsibilities

Support Resident Teachers in delivering impactful, enquiry-based lessons, enhanced by technology

Bring joy and energy to learning to keep students engaged and motivated
-
Set and communicate high expectations for students and provide actionable feedback
-
Conduct ongoing assessments with your Resident Teacher to track and respond to student progress
-
Participate in weekly feedback and coaching sessions with Deans and Resident Teachers
-
Fully engage in professional development:
-
Daily team reflections
-
Weekly training
-
Instructional coaching
-
-
Communicate regularly with parents (email, phone, conferences)
-
Contribute to co-curricular activities (at least one per term)
-
Take part in school events and supervision duties (including occasional evenings and weekends)
About You
Required Qualifications:
-
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education (BEd) and entering 3rd or 4th year in 2025,
OR have a Bachelor’s degree + pursuing a PGCE in 2025 -
Not yet a qualified teacher as of 2025

Specializing in the Foundation Phase
-
Provisionally SACE registered
-
Experience or knowledge in teaching English and Mathematics
-
Experience with Singapore Maths and THRASS is advantageous but not required

Exposure to or understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives is a plus
