Job Description
St Mary’s DSG invites applications for Foundation Phase Internships (Grades R-3) to commence in January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals pursuing a teaching qualification in the Foundation Phase to gain valuable practical experience in a supportive and Christian ethos environment.
As an intern, you will be mentored by experienced educators, helping you to develop essential teaching and pastoral skills while contributing to the school’s vibrant and dynamic community.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in teaching across Foundation Phase (Grades R-3).

Participate in two extra-mural activities per week.

Contribute to an inclusive educational environment.

Subscribe to and participate in St Mary’s mentorship programme, focusing on modern and effective teaching techniques.

Learn and integrate IT in teaching and be open to expanding your digital skills.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Currently studying towards a teaching qualification for the Foundation Phase (Grade R-3).

A passion for education and a strong work ethic aligned with the School’s Christian ethos.

Flexibility and a willingness to assist in various aspects of school life, including extra-mural activities.

A high competency in IT and a willingness to enhance your tech teaching skills.

The ability to thrive in an inclusive and supportive school environment.

Ability to participate in and contribute to the mentorship programme.
