Curro Holdings seeks to appoint a Foundation Phase Teacher for a permanent position at Curro Aurora in Johannesburg North, starting in January 2026. The role involves teaching and coordinating subjects according to the Curro curriculum for the Foundation Phase. The teacher will be responsible for fostering positive learning attitudes, knowledge transfer, and skills development through engaging and focused teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver lessons using modern teaching tools, create workbooks, and monitor academic progress.

Implement and adjust term plans to suit class pace and lessons, including creating custom plans for revision and parent/learner meetings.

Manage the classroom, including design and set-up, discipline, and communication with students and parents.

Oversee assessments, including review, moderation, intervention plans, and the assessment roster.

Manage homework, including reading levels, revisions, and progress tracking per grade.

Organize and manage extracurricular activities and outings.
Qualifications & Requirements:

BEd in Foundation Phase Education (Honours degree advantageous).

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Foundation Phase teacher.

Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.

Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.

Willingness to work extended hours.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

SACE registered.
-
Clear criminal record.
