About the Role:

The Franchise Development Manager is responsible for managing the entire franchise sales process — from initial solicitation and application review through to contract finalization. This includes site selection, franchise agreements, lease negotiations, and working closely with both new and existing franchisees across Sorbet and Sorbet Man brands.


Key Responsibilities:

Franchising:

  • Engage with applicants interested in franchising opportunities

  • Vet and approve questionnaires for franchise presentation eligibility

  • Conduct franchise presentations

  • Process and review full application forms

  • Prepare documentation for franchisee interviews

  • Conduct interviews and meetings with prospective franchisees

  • Approve or reject applicants and handle associated documentation

  • Vet the creditworthiness of potential franchisees

  • Manage site selection and perform site visits

  • Assist in lease negotiations, including review of OTLs

  • Draft, update, and sign franchise agreements

  • Ensure all franchise agreements and disclosure documents are up to date

  • Coordinate activity meetings with Support Office departments

  • Maintain lease records and renewals for corporate stores

  • Oversee Sorbet Preneur programme and site development

  • Liaise with landlords, leasing agents, and existing franchise partners

  • Manage full store sale processes

Store Development:

  • Oversee new store builds alongside the Store Development Manager

  • Notify and manage store revamps

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential franchisees and new sites

General:

  • Carry out additional duties as instructed by leadership, in accordance with company flexibility policies


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)

  • Relevant diploma, degree, or qualification

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role (franchise/business development/store operations preferred)
