Grade 10 (minimum requirement).
Grade 12 will be an added advantage.
Valid Driver’s Licence (added advantage).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (must be bilingual).
Ability to follow and execute given instructions.
Good physical health with basic knowledge of manual labour.
Hard-working and self-disciplined.
1 year of relevant experience in general work related to sewer blockages or sanitation within a Local Government Authority.

Load and off-load materials and equipment safely using protective gear.
Unblock sewer pipelines using rodding equipment.
Clean up sewage remains after blockages and overflows.
Work in confined spaces such as drainage manholes.
Clean VIP and chemical toilets.
Operate small plant equipment for compaction and sewer-related works.
Excavate using picks and shovels.
Clean pump station sumps, tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Maintain surrounding areas by cutting grass and performing housekeeping duties.
Place traffic warning signs during road excavation work.
Keep the work area clean using brooms and manual labour tools.
Perform any labour-related or ad hoc tasks as instructed by the supervisor or superintendent.
Follow all legal instructions to ensure safety and productivity in the section.

💰 R158,844 – R174,012 per annum
(Level 13 of a Grade 4 Local Authority)
Total package (including benefits): R293,981.92 per annum

The municipality may reimburse travel costs for candidates traveling over 400km for job levels 1–4.
