Job Overview:
Curro Krugersdorp is seeking a Geography and Social Sciences Teacher for the FET Phase (Grades 10-12) to join the team in January 2026. The teacher will be responsible for teaching Geography and Social Sciences, as well as coordinating subjects in the Curro curriculum for the FET phase. The role will focus on the active teaching, skills development, and positive attitude growth of students through a well-rounded and integrated approach.
Key Performance Areas:

Lesson Planning:

Plan and deliver lessons using modern tools and methodologies, set up workbooks, and track academic improvement and achievement.

Curriculum and Term Planning:

Develop, implement, and monitor term plans, adjusting for exams, assessments, school activities, and differentiated learning materials.

Student Assessment and Feedback:
-
Create baseline assessments to gauge student knowledge levels. Based on outcomes, offer recommendations for subject choices, teaching methods, and remedial programs.

Classroom Management:
-
Oversee classroom organization, design, set-up for optimal performance, discipline rules, and maintain communication with both learners and parents.

Assessment Management:

Manage both formal and continuous assessments, including moderation, revision, and homework supervision.

Extramural Activities:

Plan and manage extracurricular activities and outings to support student development outside the classroom.

Tutoring and Extra Lessons:

Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
-
Educational Qualification:
-
BEd, BA degree, or PGCE in FET Phase Education (an honours degree in the relevant subject is advantageous).

Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.

Curriculum Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.

Skills:
-
Proven facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
-
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

SACE registration is a must.

Clear criminal record.
