About the School
Sagewood Preparatory School is an independent, Christian, English-medium school for boys and girls from Grade 000 to Grade 7. The school is a member of ISASA, accredited by IQAA and UMALUSI, and located just outside Gingindlovu on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
The Position: Grade 5 Teacher (Starting January 2026)
Sagewood Preparatory School invites applications from qualified and experienced educators to join their team in 2026. This is a full-time Intermediate Phase teaching role, with involvement in the school’s extra-curricular and after-hours activities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all the following criteria:

A Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase (4-year teaching degree) from a recognized institution
-
At least 3 years of Intermediate Phase teaching experience
-
SACE registered with a valid certificate
-
Excellent command of the English language
-
Strong classroom management skills
-
Demonstrated passion for teaching and understanding of Intermediate Phase learners

Computer literate
-
Willingness to participate fully in all school programmes, including sports and after-hours activities

Clear criminal record and willingness to obtain a police clearance certificate
-
Alignment with the Christian ethos and vision of the school
Highly Advantageous Skills

Ability to teach Afrikaans First Additional Language

Ability to teach Music across Grades 0 to 7
