Job Overview:
Cornwall Hill College is seeking a Grounds Man to assist the Grounds Manager in maintaining high-quality sports turf and hard surface courts. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the school’s sports fields and associated facilities are safe, presentable, and ready for sporting events at all times.
Key Responsibilities:

Sports Field Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance, preparation, and marking of cricket, rugby, and soccer fields.

Hard Surface Courts: Maintain tennis and netball courts, including cleaning, minor repairs, and line marking.

Turf Care Equipment: Operate and maintain turf care equipment (mowers, trimmers, rollers, irrigation systems, etc.) in good working order.

Field Monitoring: Communicate effectively with team members, coaches, and the Grounds Manager regarding the status and scheduling of fields.

Turf Health: Monitor turf health and report any pest, irrigation, or drainage issues to the Grounds Manager.

Seasonal Maintenance: Assist with seasonal field renovation and maintenance programs.

Training: Participate in training and development programs related to turf and grounds maintenance.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:

Matric or equivalent qualification.

Knowledge of Sports Field Maintenance: Understanding of turf management principles, including how to maintain sports fields and courts.

Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical skills for equipment handling and minor repairs.

Computer Literacy: Ability to use MS Office, manage stock records, and communicate via email.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and be physically capable of handling the demands of the role.

Clear Criminal Record: Essential for the role.
