Salary:

R138 486 – R163 131 per annum (Level 02)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of ABET qualification

  • No experience required

  • Skills:

    • Good verbal & written communication

    • Interpersonal skills

    • Basic health & safety knowledge

    • Basic maintenance of low-complexity machinery

    • Knowledge of basic hand tools & cleaning equipment

    • Ability to operate cleaning machines

    • Ability to perform routine tasks

    • Ability to work independently and in a team

Duties:

  • Cultivate garden areas

  • Prepare soil for planting

  • Maintain flower beds (fertilizing, weeding, pruning, irrigating)

  • Mow lawns and cut edges

  • Load/unload equipment

  • Irrigate lawns

  • Remove refuse and transport to dumps or burning areas

  • Maintain neatness of unit areas

  • Submit applications on the official Z83 form (effective 01 Jan 2021) available at any Public Service Department or on the DPSA website.

  • Incorrect or unsigned Z83 forms will lead to disqualification.

  • Attach a detailed CV only (training, qualifications, competencies, experience).

  • Certified documents (not older than 6 months) will be required only from shortlisted candidates before the interview.

Screening & Appointment

  • Appointment level depends on qualifications, experience, and research output.

  • All appointments include a 12-month probation period.
