Oakhill School, a co-educational independent day school situated in the beautiful town of Knysna, on the Garden Route, is seeking to appoint a Head of College. The school boasts an outstanding academic record and is also well-regarded for its excellence in sport, music, art, and drama.
The Head of College is a senior management role that forms part of the School Executive Committee. This individual will lead and manage the College academic staff (Grade 8–12) across all school spheres, including academic, co-curricular, student affairs, mentorship, and staff development. The Head of College will chair the College Executive Committee and report to the Head of School on operational matters related to the College.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the College academic staff (Grade 8-12) across all spheres.

Chair the College Executive Committee and report to the Head of School.

Align the College’s operations with the school’s ethos and vision.

Foster collaboration and teamwork within the school and broader community.

Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and innovative educational environment.

Lead by example and manage a team of teachers, coaches, and external co-curricular providers.

Demonstrate strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and manage administrative duties efficiently.

Represent the College at functions and events, including after-hours and weekend work.

Take on a reduced teaching load as agreed upon.
