🔎 Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the English Department for Grades 4 to 7
-
Teach at least 3 English classes in the Senior Preparatory phase
-
Act as a form class teacher and teach Life Orientation to that class
-
Develop, implement, and oversee a diverse, rigorous English curriculum
-
Organize reading initiatives such as Book Week, World Read Aloud Day, etc.
-
Understand and manage assessment, moderation, and examination processes
-
Collaborate with other subject teachers across disciplines
-
Integrate AI tools in English tasks
-
Promote African literature within the Senior Preparatory curriculum
🎯 Candidate Requirements:
-
Appropriate degree and/or professional teaching qualification
-
Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
-
Experience in curriculum development
-
Energetic, innovative, and creative approach to teaching and leadership
-
Experience in independent schooling preferred but not essential
-
Ability to obtain sexual offender clearance and Child Protection Registrar clearance
