Job Overview:
Afrimat Eckraal Quarries is offering an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Intern to join their team. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable experience in safety management and environmental health, specifically in the mining and quarrying industry.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification.

National Diploma or Degree in Safety or Environmental Health.

SAMTRAC Qualification (Preferably Mining SAMTRAC).

Driver’s License (Essential).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation.

Knowledge of Environmental legislation (advantageous).
-
Must be from Tshwane Municipality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the SHE team (Safety, Health, and Environmental) in overseeing and managing day-to-day functions.
-
Help in developing, implementing, reviewing, and improving company SHE policies, SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), COP’s (Code of Practice), and risk assessments.

Schedule and attend weekly/monthly SHE meetings and participate in committee meetings.

Assist with workplace inspections and audits, addressing any findings.

Conduct toolbox talks and assist in communicating safety protocols to employees.

Support the overall improvement of the health, safety, and environmental culture within the company.
