Role Purpose
The Senior Phase and FET Phase SAL (Sign Language) Educator will:

Maintain high academic and behavioural expectations for scholars.

Be a content specialist in Sign Language for reading, writing, and speaking.

Equip scholars with knowledge and skills for matriculation and future careers.
-
Collaborate to deliver an inquiry-based curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
-
Plan and deliver face-to-face and online academic and club lessons.

Collaborate with grade and content teams to create rigorous, engaging lessons.
-
Develop and implement individual behaviour and learning plans.

Administer and analyze assessments to track scholar progress.
-
Lead social and emotional development sessions (CQ).
-
Support low- and high-performing scholars through targeted programmes.
-
Participate in place-based education and career guidance activities.
-
Develop and maintain SPARK culture and behaviour management.

Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
-
Uphold child protection, anti-bullying, and health and safety policies.
-
Attend Saturday events and parent meetings as required.
Qualifications & Criteria
-
Fluent in English and South African Sign Language
-
Completed B.Ed or PGCE in Second Additional Language (Senior & FET) – Sign Language
-
Registered with SACE
-
Clear criminal record
