Job Overview:
Curro Academy Mbombela is looking for a Senior Phase English HL Teacher to join their team for the 2026 academic year. The teacher will be responsible for the active teaching, skills development, and growth of learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches, while ensuring adherence to the Curro and IEB curricula.
Key Performance Areas:

Lesson Planning:

Plan lessons using modern tools and methods, set up workbooks, and measure academic progress.

Curriculum and Term Planning:

Develop and adjust the term plan based on exams, assessments, school activities, and differentiated learning needs.

Classroom Management:
-
Oversee classroom organization, disciplinary rules, and communication with learners and parents.

Assessment Management:
-
Set up and manage assessments (formal and continuous), including moderation, revision, and homework supervision.

Extramural Activities and Outings:
-
Plan and manage extracurricular activities and outings.
-

Tutoring and Extra Lessons:

Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons to learners.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
-
Educational Qualification:
-
BEd or BA in Senior Phase Education (an Honours degree in the relevant subject is advantageous).

Experience:
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a senior phase teacher.

Curriculum Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of the IEB curriculum is required.

Skills:
-
Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

SACE registration is a must.

Clear criminal record.
