About the Role

ADvTECH, Africa’s leading provider of private education, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Department (HOD) for the FET Phase at The Bridge School in Lonehill. This is a leadership and teaching role that will drive academic excellence, future-focused education, and holistic learner development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration and discipline within the High School

  • Deliver a future-focused curriculum that inspires and challenges students

  • Ensure consistent academic delivery, progress tracking, and assessment

  • Support and mentor teachers in their professional growth and classroom performance

  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community

  • Oversee school events, policies, and initiatives within the FET phase

  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and excellence

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) with PGCE or B.Ed (FET Phase)

  • Must be SACE registered

  • Police clearance required

  • 2–5 years’ teaching experience in a specialist subject

  • 2–5 years’ management experience in an educational environment

  • Proficiency in digital tools, online platforms, and educational technologies

  • Remedial, assisted learning, or special needs education experience is an advantage
