Purpose of the Role:

To provide effective HR support to the Sunbake business unit/factory by delivering HR services, practices, and procedures that support employee relations, resourcing, talent management, health and safety compliance, organisational design, and employment equity.


Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management

  • Valid Code EB driver’s license and own vehicle (for site visits)

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Advise line managers on conduct and disciplinary procedures

  • Investigate and manage disciplinary and grievance cases

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and provide guidance

  • Participate in labour consultations

  • Coach managers on disciplinary hearings

  • Manage employee wellness initiatives and meetings

  • Represent company at CCMA and Bargaining Council

  • Chair shop steward meetings monthly

Resourcing:

  • Manage recruitment permissions and job advertising

  • Coordinate interviews and selection process for C Band and below

  • Supervise employee orientation

  • Manage employee evaluations and terminations

  • Ensure job profiles and evaluations are up to date

Talent Management:

  • Coach managers on performance and talent review processes

  • Facilitate consistency and talent review meetings

  • Consolidate performance appraisals

  • Drive succession planning

  • Monitor and drive employment equity targets

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Manage injury on duty (IOD) cases and reporting

  • Assist Risk Officer with monitoring IOD cases

  • Maintain employee records and report HR metrics

  • Manage compensation, payroll, and compliance

  • Coordinate training and development programs

  • Enforce HR policies for legal and strategic compliance

Organisational Design:

  • Liaise on new position proposals and organisational changes

  • Maintain organisational structure on SAP

  • Lead change management initiatives

Training Development:

  • Compile training matrix and facilitate HR training

  • Drive development plans for C Band employees

Employment Equity:

  • Generate quarterly reports and lead EE meetings

  • Drive staff diversity and compliance with KPI targets

HR Administration:

  • Manage onboarding, terminations, and exit interviews

  • Maintain HR data integrity in systems

  • Provide HR policy advice to management and staff

  • Counsel employees on workplace issues

  • Prepare employment reports and surveys

  • Address discrimination and compliance issues

  • Audit files monthly for compliance

  • Verify allowances and employee records regularly

  • Run and analyze HR reports for monthly dashboards
