Introduction:
Mintek is looking for an HR System Analyst Intern to maintain and support its Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This role will focus on optimizing HRIS functionality, conducting data analysis, improving workflows, and supporting system enhancements and upgrades. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with HRIS, process improvements, user support, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Information Systems Optimization:

Analyze and report on the need for HRIS optimization.

Assist in determining business requirements and ensuring the functionality of all HRIS is fully optimized.

Ensure compliance with data protection legislation across all HR information systems.
-
Maintain, verify, and control user functionality levels with support from ICT.
-
Assist in process standardization and efficiency improvements within HRIS.
-
Contribute to the development of motivations for HRIS improvements.
2. Change Management:

Liaise with internal stakeholders and service providers on HRIS-related queries and enhancement requests.

Analyze business processes and recommend improvements using automated processes within HRIS.

Support HRIS upgrades and enhancements, ensuring proper scoping and user acceptance testing.

Test system changes and ensure accurate functionality before deployment to production.

Document and follow proper change control procedures for system changes.
3. User Support:

Provide first-line system support, technical and functional support to users.

Support user acceptance testing and ensure that changes meet business requirements.

Provide user training, either in a group setting or on a one-on-one basis.
4. Workflow and Business Processes:

Identify and design effective workflows and business processes, focusing on automation for approval by the supervisor.

Participate in policy and procedure reviews, identifying implications for system improvements.
5. Analytics:

Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports on key HR metrics.

Develop ad hoc reports to provide timely and accurate data to HR and other stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:

Qualification:
-
Minimum: Honours degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

Basic experience working with HR information systems.

Working knowledge of business processes and the ability to understand basic HR policies and legislation.

Familiarity with HR metrics and HR processes will be advantageous.

Skills:

Strong project management skills.

Good presentation and communication skills.
