🔧 Role Overview

Provide ICT desktop support to staff, helping resolve hardware/software issues, installing equipment, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of campus technology.


🖥️ Key Duties

1. Desktop Support

  • Respond to and prioritise service desk requests.

  • Log and track issues using incident/problem management systems.

  • Troubleshoot common problems and escalate complex ones to Senior ICT Support.

2. Software & Hardware Installation

  • Install and configure desktop/laptop computers.

  • Set up peripherals (monitors, printers, etc.).

  • Maintain and test IT/AV equipment (e.g., for boardrooms and training).

3. Admin Functions

  • Liaise with vendors for repairs and maintenance.

  • Update asset registers for software/hardware.

  • Manage IT storerooms, ensuring safety and orderliness.

  • Maintain software licensing bank.


📚 Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum:

    • Higher Certificate / Occupational Certificate (NQF Level 5)

    • A+ / N+ certification

  • Experience:

    • 6+ months of internship in IT support or similar role

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Basic systems administration

  • Time management & organization

  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours

  • Initiative & problem-solving skills

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Driver’s license and own transport required
