Purpose of the Job:
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability. The role will report to the Infrastructure Manager and support the smooth operation of systems that facilitate business functionality.
Key Performance Areas:

Respond to incidents, service requests, and change requests ensuring prompt resolution.

Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve infrastructure issues affecting user performance.

Manage ICT-related data centre infrastructures and provide solutions for cloud-based services (Microsoft Azure, AWS).

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade server hardware, storage, tape libraries, and other infrastructure components.

Manage virtual environments (Azure tenants), configure virtual machines, storage solutions, and virtual networking.

Implement Microsoft Azure Active Directory, secure identities, and monitor services.

Manage patching and firmware upgrades on systems and hardware.

Support the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of Microsoft Exchange Server, Skype for Business, Teams, and other communication platforms.

Provide third-line support by liaising with vendors and suppliers.

Oversee disaster recovery services and create solutions to mitigate risks.

Develop and maintain SOP documentation and low-level configurations for all system deployments.
Other Key Competencies:

Expertise in managing and supporting infrastructure hardware and systems (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Linux, storage management, backup/archive, network, and telecommunication platforms).

Experience with cloud-based platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and AWS.

Strong knowledge in managing disaster recovery (DR) services, virtualization software, and communication/collaboration platforms.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in pressure situations, manage time efficiently, and multitask effectively.

Good interpersonal communication skills at all levels.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, remaining up to date with the latest industry trends.
Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:
-
National Diploma in IT or Computer Systems, or equivalent.
-
A+ or N+ certification.
-
MCSE or MCITP certification.
-
ITIL Foundation certification.
-
Related courses on VMWare (VCP) or Hyper-V would be advantageous.

Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years in maintaining and supporting infrastructure systems and data centre environments.

Expert knowledge in Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Exchange Server 2016/19, and Exchange Online.
