Position Overview:
St Stithians Girls’ Preparatory is seeking a qualified and experienced Intermediate Phase Teacher to join their dynamic team starting from 1 January 2026 (negotiable). The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent teaching skills, a commitment to ongoing personal development, and a passion for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver enquiry-based lessons that promote exploration, questioning, and deep understanding.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and learning experiences.

Contribute to the development of the school’s extramural programme.

Foster and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including students, parents, and staff.

Be flexible, innovative, and embrace change in teaching practices.

Use educational technology platforms and tools to enhance learning engagement and outcomes.

Promote diversity and inclusion within the school community.

Actively participate in the school’s co-curricular activities and pastoral approach to education.
Requirements:

A suitable professional qualification with at least 5 years of appropriate teaching experience in the Intermediate Phase.

Experience in independent schools and Girls’ Education will be advantageous.

A sound understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and sustain positive relationships.

A commitment to personal and professional development.

SACE registration and a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.

An ability to contribute to the broader ethos of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
