About the Role:
The University of the Free State is offering an internship opportunity for an Intern at the GPS Hub Reception within the Career Services department. This is a 1-year contract position that will allow the successful candidate to gain valuable experience in office management, communication, and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:

Receive parcels and sort incoming mail.

Circulate central communication to GPS hub staff.
-
Maintain and update the GPS hub staff list.
-
Type and update the GPS hub staff administration, including telephone and birthday lists.
-
Manage records for visitor logs and office key management.
-
Coordinate the reception during working hours, ensuring smooth operations, including during lunch times or leave.
-
Coordinate venue bookings for shared spaces within the GPS hub.
-
Assist CT/Student Affairs administrative support as needed.
-
Manage signing in/out of central keys for the GPS hub.
-
Greet and assist visitors, direct them to appropriate offices or venues, and provide first-line support for inquiries.

Answer general telephone and email communication.
Inherent Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Office Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or Human Resources Management.

No previous formal work experience required.
-
Not participating in any current internship/learnership programme.

Willingness to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
