About the Internship
This internship offers an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry graduate to gain hands-on experience in biorefinery processes within a research and development setting. Interns will work closely with researchers and engineers in cross-functional teams, contributing to the development of innovative products and competitive technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of senior researchers, the intern will:

Analyse and interpret experimental data

Learn about biorefinery systems for industrial use

Prepare chemical reagents and conduct general chemistry experiments

Compile technical reports and contribute to project documentation
-
Assist in planning and executing laboratory experiments
-
Support inventory and equipment management
-
Help develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Take ownership of laboratory responsibilities
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Requirements:
-
National Diploma in Chemistry
-
Strong interest in hands-on lab work and equipment handling
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

A results-driven, motivated individual and a team player
-
Willingness to learn, adapt, and perform under pressure

SAQA evaluation for foreign qualifications (required if applicable)
