Key Purpose Statement
As an Intersen Phase Teacher (Afrikaans), your primary responsibility will be to establish and further extend students’ foundational knowledge and guide them toward independent work across various curricula. You will foster relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote positive interaction and retention, while embracing a future-focused education environment that inspires, motivates, and challenges students.
Key Responsibilities

Academic Delivery (40%): Deliver high-quality lessons in Afrikaans, ensuring that students achieve their academic potential.

Academic Assessment and Reporting (20%): Regularly assess and report on student progress to ensure continuous improvement.

Student Behaviour Management (10%): Maintain discipline and manage student behaviour effectively within the classroom.

School Brand Ambassadorship (10%): Represent and uphold the values and ethos of Crawford International.

Administration (10%): Handle administrative tasks such as lesson planning, grading, and parent communications.

Health & Safety (10%): Promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Degree (NQF Level 6) and PGCE or B.Ed (Intermediate/Intersen or Senior Phase or Foundation Phase).

Willingness to be a generalist rather than a specialist in teaching.

Honours degree with specialisation in an educational sphere or subject-specific area.

IB PYP Training (preferred).

Police Clearance and Valid SACE certificate.
-
Valid Driver’s Licence.
Desired Qualifications

Strategies and tools to support delivery of Global Competencies, Inquiry-based Learning, and Computer and Digital Literacy.
Minimum Experience
-
3-5 years teaching experience.

1 year teaching internship (at the Principal’s discretion).
