Job Description
The primary objective of the PaQT DevSecOps Lead is to effectively lead and coach a team of DevSecOps engineers. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. As a hands-on team lead, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement best practices, and optimise DevSecOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. The role also demands close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to maintain platform reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Build and manage an effective, skilled team with appropriate succession planning and provide technical leadership.

Performance Management: Manage employee performance, clearly define goals and objectives, provide direction, coaching, and regular feedback.

Agile Practices: Actively participate in and contribute to agile practices and ceremonies, including the Quarterly Business Review.

Platform Management: Ensure scalable, secure, and stable environments for the platform.

Vendor Management: Liaise with external contracted suppliers to implement new solutions required by business and technology users, in line with an agreed roadmap.

Platform Maintenance: Ensure ongoing application and infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and renewals to ensure platform availability and reliability (on-prem and cloud).

Security Posture: Drive and maintain a favourable security posture for the platform, continuously addressing vulnerabilities.

Quality Assurance: Embed principles of quality assurance and define DevSecOps quality frameworks and standards.

Disaster Recovery: Ensure adequate disaster recovery and high availability for the platform that meets business needs.

Cloud Infrastructure: Ensure optimal usage of cloud infrastructure and drive ongoing cost efficiencies.

CI/CD Management: Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support seamless software delivery and deployment.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements in the area of accountability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships to manage expectations, share knowledge, and create buy-in and aligned delivery focus.

Technology Consulting: Research, enable, and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement.
Qualifications & Experience

Relevant Qualifications: Any relevant qualification

Experience:
-
7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, with 1 to 2 years ideally in junior (entry-level) management
-
Proven experience in leading, implementing, and supporting Financial Markets systems
-
Strong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and methodologies
-
Working knowledge of IT security principles
-
Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure
-
AZ-104 certification; AZ-305 would be advantageous
-
Experience with version control tools like Git, BitBucket
-
Experience with provisioning and operating CI/CD tools, either from Azure or using Jenkins/TeamCity
-
Operating systems: Windows Server, RHEL
-
Platforms: AKS, OpenShift (advantageous)

Experience with Tomcat, Wildfly
-
PostgreSQL, DB/2, MS-SQL Server, MongoDB and working SQL knowledge

Working knowledge and experience with Docker
