Job Description:
Kloof Pre-Primary School is seeking a Campus Caretaker to ensure that their facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained for the students, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that involves taking responsibility for the upkeep of the school campus, ensuring a clean and secure environment for the learners.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs:
-
Ensure the environment is always safe, clean, and operational.

Perform daily maintenance, repairs, and small projects as required (e.g., plumbing, electrical, general repairs).

Supervise cleaning, groundskeeping, and security staff to ensure smooth operations.

Health & Safety:
-
Monitor and maintain health and safety standards.
-
Oversee waste removal, recycling, and cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the school.

Administrative Duties:
-
Conduct weekly site inspections and keep accurate records, including asset registers, service logs, and stocktakes.

Prepare and implement an annual maintenance plan.

Support for School Events:
-
Assist with setting up and packing down for school functions and events.

Contractor & Supplier Management:
-
Liaise with contractors and service providers regarding repairs and maintenance.

Manage procurement and supply of materials as needed.

Skills & Experience Required:
-
Experience:
-
Proven experience in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, general repairs) — 3-5 years preferred.

Skills:
-
Detail-oriented with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

Strong communication, time management, and supervisory skills.

Ability to maintain high health and safety standards.

Basic computer literacy.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and own transport.

Criminal and Sexual Offender’s Clearance Certificate (required).
