About the Role:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Frontshop Assistant to join its Local Choice Pharmacy team at Atterbury Value Mart in Pretoria, Gauteng. This full-time, permanent entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in the retail pharmacy sector.
Role Summary:
As a Frontshop Assistant, your main duties will include maintaining product displays, assisting customers, and supporting the overall retail operation. You will ensure that shelves are well-stocked, presentable, and that customers receive excellent service on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:

Refill and rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method

Ensure proper product labeling and pricing
-
Maintain tidy shelves and storeroom areas
-
Set up and sustain promotional displays
-
Participate in stock counts and unpack deliveries
-
Flatten boxes and handle stock correctly to reduce loss
-
Assist customers with product and pricing queries
-
Wear appropriate uniform and name badge daily
-
Contribute to onboarding of new team members
-
Keep your work area neat and organized
Minimum Requirements:
-
Matric / Grade 12 certificate
-
0–6 months of retail experience
Advantageous (Not Mandatory):
-
1+ year retail experience
-
Familiarity with FMCG products and merchandising

Knowledge of planograms and category displays
-
Multilingual communication skills (2nd or 3rd language)
